The New EU Payment Services Directive coming into effect next year will ban charges for payments made by debit, credit, American Express cards, PayPal or Apple Pay either online or in-store.

It will be implemented in the UK from 13 January 2018, via the Payment Services Regulations, 2017, which has now been published.

Any BVRLA members who currently levy such a charge must ensure that this practise stops by the end of the year.
